জলবায়ু
এই জলবায়ু, এ কঠিন ঋতুচক্র আমার
আগলে রেখেছি সব ইতিহাস অভিমানে।
থামিয়ে-দমিয়ে রেখেছি ভীষণ বন্যার্ত স্রোত
ভাঙাচোরা তবুও ঠায় দাঁড়িয়ে জড়িয়ে ওতপ্রোত।
হাতে হাত রেখে বুনেছিলাম এ ব্যাকুল বাঁধ
চিবুকের ঘ্রাণে রেখেছিলাম আমার প্রেমোন্মাদ।
তোমার তো জানাই আছে কখন বৃষ্টি হয়,
তুমি তো জানোই, আর্দ্র বাতাসের পরিচয়...

The Climate
This climate, this relentless turn of the year,
I've held close all the history of my bitter tears.
I've held back, contained the furious river's flow,
Broken and shattered, yet still we stand, tangled so.
Hand in hand, we built this anxious, fragile dam,
On your cheek's fragrance, I kept my love-crazed clam.
You know, do you not, when the rains arrive?
And you know, too, how the humid breezes thrive...
